With the successful completion of the two screens at Wessex Water’s Albert Street PS, they were keen for GoFlo to design a new screen for Clifton Maybank water abstraction point on the River Yeo.
The ‘hands-off’ design of the GoFlo Intake Screen provides remote monitoring from anywhere. At a site where nearby tree cover causes a high level of water debris, maintenance and management is massively reduced.
To meet stringent eel regulations we designed, manufactured and installed two huge 1.5m x 4.5m travelling screens. Our screens use a very fine mesh, protecting aquatic life and providing a greater energy yield for the site.
Years of operation, with no issues – we ensure that our hydro intake screens reduce downtime and maintain maximum power generation. GoFlo intake screens are fully automated and tailored to particular traits of each site.
Southern Water put their trust in GoFlo to make their intake Eel Regulations compliant. We worked with their design team to produce an integrated solution, debris flushing trough and return channel, intake box structure and walkways. This was installed without dewatering the intake!
This unique intake screen – integrated into the power plant control system – supplies fresh water to the Templeborough biomass power station’s cooling tower. This is proof of the wide range of applications for a GoFlo water intake screen!
